As promised (but delivered slightly early), TCT tackles their first big boi! Hannah doesn’t quite understand why she could write a 36 page script for this episode, no problem, but still hasn’t managed to write a full page of her disseration??

For this two-parter, Hannah takes us to Australia for “The Nedlands Monster,” the serial killer who terrorized the residents of Perth from 1958 - 1963. Eric Edgar Cooke committed at least 22 violent crimes (including 8 murders) and countless burglaries. In the first part, we will talk about his first murders as well as how ridiculously clumsy this psychopath was (at least when he was at work). He will spend a lot of time at the Royal Perth Hospital and even more time on workers comp.

For Part 2, Hannah wraps up this disturbing crime spree. Thanks to an alert couple and an almost cartoonish trap, this monster was finally apprehended. For two men, though, his capture would not mean freedom. Even though Cooke confessed in 1963 to the crimes that Darryl Beamish and John Button were convicted of, the two men would ultimately serve out their sentences. It wasn’t until 2002 (Button) and 2005 (Beamish) that they would finally be acquitted of the crimes.

These two episodes wrapped up Pisces season for us this year. The research and the script-writing was a bit much for Hannah, so she never got around to astrology. Let us know if you saw any Piscean trait in Eric Edgar Cooke. Then let’s move on to Aries season which begins on Sunday, March 20. Move on from dreaming into a season of action and external energy!

Food Pairing: Fish and chips! Let us know if you’ve ever gotten into a fight over fish and chips, because it seems like a bit much to us to get that worked up over.
